things to keep in mind
notes for the weekend
- Two hotels, two payment situations. The Courtyard ($432.56 USD) is booked but not pre‑paid; it settles at Saturday’s 8:45 am checkout. The Californian is pre‑paid, but the resort fee and parking are still owed for each night.
- The sailing charter is pre‑paid at $1,312.85 CAD, but the wine bottle hasn’t been charged yet, so expect that on the day.
- Caruso’s is a set four‑course menu at $295 USD per person. Sunset is 7:27 pm, so the 7:00 seating puts you at the table for it.
- Saturday 12:30 is the one loose thread. We’re checked out at 8:45 and not into the Californian until 3:00, so it’s worth confirming whose pool we’re at and whether Tan Tan serves there.
- Three tasting rooms, one afternoon. Margerum is inside the Californian complex, the easy choice if the sailing runs long or lunch stretches.
- Monday is a driving day. Checkout at 11:15 and 1h45 to LAX leaves very little slack before the 1:30 pm arrival target, so build in traffic.
